Professional Pool Fire-Up Services
The start-up process is a comprehensive regimen that begins immediately after your pool is filled with water and lasts between 3 and 4 weeks. During this period, the plaster undergoes significant curing, with approximately 86% of the cement hydrating within this timeframe. Proper maintenance during this time is crucial to prevent issues such as staining, scaling, or discoloration. To ensure optimal results, a pool technician will visit your property three times per week during the start-up phase. These visits are essential for monitoring and adjusting the pool's chemistry, ensuring that all parameters remain within ideal ranges for both the plaster's curing process and swimmer safety.

-
Continuous Circulation and Filtration: Once filled, the pool's circulation and filtration system should operate continuously for at least 72 hours to ensure even distribution of chemicals and to aid in the removal of plaster dust.
-
Regular Brushing: Brushing the entire pool surface often the first two weeks helps remove plaster dust and opens the pores of the plaster, facilitating proper curing.
-
Chemical Balancing: Maintaining appropriate chemical levels is vital. This includes adjusting pH, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, and adding a sequestering agent if necessary. Regular testing and adjustments are required to keep these parameters within optimal ranges.
-
Chlorination: Introducing chlorine is essential for sanitizing the pool. However, it's recommended to wait 48 hours after filling before adding chlorine to prevent interference with the plaster curing process.
-
Filter Maintenance: Cleaning the filters at least once a week during the start-up period is necessary to remove accumulated plaster dust and debris, ensuring efficient filtration.
