Look Out for These Signs of a Pool Leak

Noticing unusual water loss in your pool, spa, or fountain? Pyure Pools offers reliable leak detection services to identify and fix the issue quickly. While environmental factors like humidity and temperature can cause minor water level changes, excessive loss may indicate a leak.

  • Water loss exceeds 1/4 inch per day.

  • Cracks in or around your pool deck.

  • Frequent need to refill the pool.

  • Soggy grass or landscaping near the pool.

  • Lifting or sinking pool deck.

  • Bucket test confirms a leak.

How to Perform the Bucket Test:

  1. Fill the pool to the normal level.

  2. Fill a bucket with pool water, 3–4 inches from the top.

  3. Place the bucket on the pool’s second step (not submerged).

  4. Mark the water levels inside and outside the bucket.

  5. Turn off auto-fill and run the pump as usual.

  6. After 24 hours, compare the levels. Greater water loss outside the bucket indicates a leak.

If you detect a leak, Pyure Pools can help you pinpoint the source—whether in the structure, plumbing, or equipment—and provide efficient repairs to minimize costs.
